We're getting there, I swear....eventually.
Going to migrate the discography to the new design bit by bit. Just
thinking of a way to do it (somewhat) seemlessly so that the whole
of the discography is accessible at any given time.
Check the new listing for the upcoming
Method
of Defiance release...Kurt at OHM has been kind enough to allow
me to consolidate and post clips for EVERY track on the album.
Have some new finds thrown up. Releases
by Matisyahu,
Apollo
Smile and Akiko
Grace.
Just a quick one to note some new
and upcoming releases :
Out now is a beautiful 12"
version of the now classic Submerged vs. Laswell
release, "Brutal Calling". Check Karl
Records for full info.
The new Matisyahu EP+ DVD entitled
"No Place to Be" is out now. This one features a collaboration
with Sly & Robbie of the Police's 'Message in a Bottle', and
a Laswell dub version of the same track, amongst other tunes. Here's
a listing for it, and a look at what will hopefully be the complete
discography migrated to this form. Until then, each new release
will at least be this way. Check it - No
Place to Be.
Also due at the beginning of 2007
is a new album by a group called Maghrebika, entitled
"Neftakhir". The label is Barraka el Farnatshi and apparently
features Laswell on every track.
Finally, there is also a release
date for what could be one of the most ground-breaking releases
of the year, Method of Defience "Inamorata",
due March 7 on OHM Resistance/Sony Red/Nu Urban. CD and 3x12".
Each track a collaboration between breakbeat/D 'n' B artists and
an astounding array of jazz musicians. Cats like Submerged, D*Star
and Paradox ripping it up with Herbie Hancock, Pharoah Sanders,
Dave Liebman and more. All helmed by Laswell and realized by Kurt
Submerged.
Stay tuned for some discography
additions for some upcoming releases. |
